MTC Betty Amsden Scholarship

Congratulations to Year 10 student Alphoncine Jule has been awarded an MTC Betty Amsden Scholarship for 2021.  Alphoncine gets a week of drama workshops that will help her develop her performance skills, confidence, and give her insights into the different ways she can create theatre.

It occurs during the school holiday at the Southbank Theatre. There is also an excursion to the theatre to see a show on the Wednesday. There were many worthy applicants for this course and Alphoncine should be proud of gaining one of 25 places in all Victoria.

The above photo of Alphoncine is from her last production of the Lion King in which she performed alongside one of our newest teachers, Melissa Tamraz who as you can see below is keeping very herself busy this lockdown.

It is inspiring to see so much creativity from both students and staff alike.

"During lockdown I have been keeping myself from going loopy. I needed a new coat to start my new job here at Tarneit Senior College, so I made one. Now just chilling before yoga or as these my cats call it “climb the human while she is upside down” we make the instructor laugh. I have so many projects going that I’m almost happy to be in Locky VI (think of the movies ;)" - Melissa Tamraz
