Acknowledging the challenges for Kilbreda College Mentone, the Appraisal Panel commends the Ms Mangelsdorf on her commitment to the college and her enthusiasm for the school community to thrive. It was acknowledged that Ms Mangelsdorf is leading a contemporary, inclusive, faith-based community that lives out the values and mission of the Brigidine Sisters and Kildare Ministries.

What is clear from the Panel’s Report is that Ms Mangelsdorf has continued to grow in her role as Principal.  The staff and students follow the lead set by her so that the college is a vibrant learning environment where the staff thrive on working together and students are clearly proud to attend Kilbreda. Staff regard the Principal as consistent, professional and approachable. It was noted by many of those interviewed that Ms Mangelsdorf is very supportive of staff, empathetic of parents, focused on quality learning for all students and a great advocate of students with special needs.

During the past year, Ms Mangelsdorf has managed the pandemic with very strong, resolute leadership. Her regular communication and decisiveness have been appreciated. In planning for remote learning, Ms Mangelsdorf has been conscious of the wellbeing of staff and students.

The Appraisal Panel agree that she is an exemplary Catholic leader who loves the College, honours its past and is passionate about its future. She has sustained a clear moral purpose in her leadership and the school community is in no doubt that she is committed to the students and their learning.
