Introducing our School Council Members

Gen Kelly, Community School Council Member

I am part of the School Council this year as a community member. My husband Andrew and I have two daughters, Lila 13 and Sasha 11 and we have lived and worked in the local community for the past 14 years. We currently operate a hospitality venue in North Melbourne, taking care of the coffee needs of locals - a very important task in these days of lockdowns and 5km limits.

I have been part of the School Council for the last eight years as a parent and was inspired to join as I wanted to be a part of creating community at our school and to support NMPS to provide a rich experience for the students outside of the curriculum the school managed. I have made some wonderful friends from being involved with the Parents and Friends Association and have felt so proud of our amazing school community who always come together to share their culture, experiences, and desire to connect and celebrate our children.

Last year I joined the staff at NMPS as an Education Support Officer and it has been a fantastic time of getting to know more of the students at school in their learning environments and working more closely with them and with the amazing teaching staff at our school. In my free time, I enjoy escaping to the country, exploring my hobby of beekeeping, and figuring out ways to cook with the produce of my garden - and of course, drinking coffee!

As a parent and a staff member, I love to make the connections that help build and strengthen relationships at our school and welcome anyone who would love to find out ways that they can be involved.

Please say hello if you see me around school or at the school gate.
