Basketball News
Great news in that senior and junior basketball all resumed last week and will continue as normal for all divisions. Please check the HBA website for fixtures and note the important reminders from the HBA of COVID restrictions to adhere to, such as QR coding into HILAC and only one parent/guardian of children under 18 also is allowed into the stadium.
With not long to go in the season now can I ask that you start to discuss with your child if they will be playing in the new spring/summer season beginning early Term 4 and continuing into March 2022 (near the end of Term 1). Thus if they have lots of other summer sport or other commitments that will prevent them playing fulltime or they won’t be at College in 2022 it is best they don’t sign up into a team.
Importantly please note the new season “years of births” below for junior basketball as they changeover as per Basketball Victoria regulations at this time so this will mean some players go up an age group.
Under 10 - 2013/2014
Under 12 - 2011/2012
Under 14 - 2009/2010
Under 16 - 2007/2008
18 & Under - 2004/2005/2006
I will require all returning and new players to fill out and return a sign up form which I will email out to senior students and Simone Brabham has sent home a form for junior students.
Please get in contact with myself at the senior campus or Simone at the Junior School if you have any other questions.
I wish all teams the best of luck for the remainder of the season and hopefully finals for those teams that make them!
Football News
It is exciting that we have all the GD Football dates rescheduled at various times for the remainder of this term starting with the Senior Girls team in action next Monday at Pedrina Park. Players will be notified of when their competition day is in the coming weeks.
In local leagues we have Junior Grand Finals this weekend and many Year 7 and 8 boys will be playing against each other in the inaugural Greater South West Junior Football League Under 14 Grand Final at Melville oval on Sunday as Hamilton Blue take on Hamilton Orange. Bragging rights on Monday will be huge!
We also have several Year 9 and 10 boys representing the Hamilton Kangaroos Hampden Under 16 team in their Grand Final against South Warrnambool at Port Fairy. Good luck boys!
Well done also to the girls that have been representing the Kangaroos youth girls team and performed exceptionally well during the season.
Many of the senior boys are heading into their finals for the Kangaroos Under 18.5 team and we should congratulate Year 12 student Max Green who has been playing superb football in the senior team over the last few games.

Girls Hockey Report
Well what a season! 1 game played, 3 weeks off, 1 game played, 4 weeks off and now another game played. Fingers crossed we can move into the finals without any further COVID lockdowns. Both A and B grade had strong wins on the weekend. B grade defeated Monivae 2-0 with Daisy Henry and Maddi Davidson the goal scorers. A grade defeated Dunkeld with Lucy Roberts continuing her wonderful run of scoring and Captain Chloe Russell drilled one from the top of the circle. With only one round remaining before finals, A Grade are on top of the ladder and B Grade should finish in 3rd spot securing their finals berth.
Well done to Captains Chloe Russell and Ferg Roberts on their initiative to organise a Breast Cancer fundraising round on the weekend. The College sides looked great in their hot pink socks and must have brought luck with the Men securing a strong win as well.
