Japanese Day

Japanese Day at Kingswood

Kingswood Primary School held a Japanese Day on Friday November 2nd. It was marvellous to see students come to school in Japanese dress such as Kimonos, Ninjas, Anime and game characters, Japanese national colours and even sushi!

We also encouraged families to send their children to school with a Japanese Bento Box and many of the students brought their own Bento Box to school on the day. Thank you to both students and parents who spent a lot of time and effort creating beautiful, healthy lunch boxes.

Students participated in two cultural activities on the day. They included: Manga drawing, Japanese play, Taiko Drums, Shamisen and Sumie (Ink painting). We also had a visit from SBS Radio who interviewed some of the students, teachers and performers for a Japanese broadcast on 8th November. This broadcast can be listened to via the SBS website.

Thank you to all the students, parents and teachers who participated so enthusiastically on the day. It was a great day to celebrate our learning of Japanese culture.
