Whats happening in the classroom.............

2 AW

This term we have been learning a lot of new things in 2AW! In Design and Technology our class has been investigating our senses. We are currectly designing a sensory wall for our school. Using senses helps our brains grow! Our senses are:

• Sight
• Hearing
• Taste
• Smell
• Touch

In writing we have been learning new types of poetry. We have written sensory poems to describe how something looks, sounds, smells, feels and tastes. Can you guess what we are describing?

I can see the electronics as the light shines on my face.

I can smell the marvellous food from the kitchen.

I can feel the vibration through my arms as it calms me down.

I can taste the victory as I’m about to win.

I can hear the marvellous gaming sounds as it flows through my ears.

We are video games!

I see the children excitedly unwrapping their presents.

I hear children laughing and having fun.

I smell the sweet, sugary cupcakes.

I feel the smooth and shiny spoon scooping the sweet cake.

I taste the delicious, yummy party food.

We are the birthday group!

I see a group of scary people coming towards our houses.

I touch lots of delicious, tasty lollies as I put them into my bag.

I taste yummy lollies, YUM!!! Lots of them.

I can smell yummy, delicious pumpkins.

I can hear people saying trick or treat.

We are Halloween.

I see the sparkling lights shine bright and the bells giggling.

I can hear fireworks exploding beautifully in the air.

I can smell freshly baked ginger bread men coking in the oven.

I can feel the red sparkling ribbons tangled on the tree.

I can taste freshly baked, sweet, delicious cake.

We are Christmas!

I can see the endless green, beautiful hills and beautifully polished barn.

I can hear the beautiful, fluffy chickens pecking at their grain.

I can smell the petrol rising into the air from the tractor.

I can taste the pretty golden chicken eggs, on my toast.

I can feel the vibrating of the red tractor going grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! 

We are a farm!
