PROGRAM NEWS

BEFORE SCHOOL CARE

Children have enjoyed being in the dramatic play office in the last few weeks. They have made their own stores while some children have decided to be boss for the day.

Due to the nicer weather, we have started to have breakfast outside. As well as bringing, some games outside the children have enjoyed sitting outside in the fresh air.

In the next few weeks, the children will be encouraged to make a magic crayon drawing and create magic drawings that come to life in front of their own eyes.

Breakfast outside will also continue when the weather is nice and especially if we can see any Hot Air balloons.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE

 Junior Program

The children have shown lots of enthusiasm when making pumpkins for Halloween and have expressed an interest in doing more cooking activities after participating in cooking activities lately.

In the next few weeks, the children will be trying different art mediums such as metallic oil pastels and watercolour pencils. We will also be making “Bug in a Box” that the children have suggested from Mr Maker and paper scratch pictures.

Middle Program

The children have been enjoying creating dinosaur scenes in the sand trays and add natural materials like wood, stones and seedpods.

We also made Pancakes for National Desert day

The next few weeks will see the children decorating special Christmas presents and building forts with foam squares which has encouraged lots of negotiations and conversations to build the best forts possible

Senior Program

Children have enjoyed taking part in large group card games such as Spoons and Uno. It was a chance for both the Grade 5’s and 6’s to mix.

Some children used a new modelling clay to make tiny figures of their favourite foods. Children put in detailed designs and patterns on some of their creations

Coming up in the next few weeks, we will be writing on our end of year OSHC news. Children will then learn how to edit their segments. They will also be helping cook afternoon tea for the program which has been requested by many of the children.
