John XXIII Parents’ Association
In Term 4 last year the John XXIII Parents’ Association funded the purchase of sewing machines for the Technologies and Enterprise Department, and we were pleased to receive the following message of appreciation from Kathryn Casey, Design and Technology Teacher:
"I just wanted to express my gratitude again for the funding of the Textiles equipment by the Parents' Association. With your help, we have been able to increase class sizes and we now have new Year 8 and Year 11 Textiles classes. We have also been able to sew heavier weight fabrics using the industrial machine during the duffle bag project, and Year 11 students have had the opportunity to experience industry-level equipment. I have attached some photos of the T&E students with their products. Our Year 8 students are creating a custom, embellished pencil case and the Year 9 students pictured are in their completed hoodies. The Year 10s are holding their duffle bags and are also pictured in their completed bomber jackets."
If you have any ideas for how the Parents’ Association funds could be spent in Term 4, the Guidelines for Funding Proposal Form must be completed (you can download one from the school website, or below). Submit to parentsassociation@johnxxiii.edu.au . The deadline for Term 4 Funding submissions is Friday 1 November.
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
