Around The Primary

Dear Parents

Welcome back to Term 4 everyone! We hope the holidays have gone well for you all and that children are rested and ready for the next nine weeks of learning!

We were delighted to welcome so many grandparents into the Primary school today. Grandma, grandpa, nanna, pop, nan, yaya, nonna, nonno, avo, opa, dida were some of the special family names used so lovingly by the children at the picnic. This event is always a wonderful opportunity for family to share some special moments together at school. The afternoon finished with delicious shared lunches, delightful musical entertainment and grandparents chatting together and exchanging stories.

This opportunity is another way for the connection between home and school, culture and family rituals and traditions to be linked and become seamless. For the children, it is an important link between home and school – a sense of community joining family and education. Our heartfelt thanks to all the families for supporting this event and to the children and the staff for helping to make these special memories.

Spring has finally and we are all feeling energised and ready for a productive, positive and rewarding term ahead! To keep up with the busy schedule of events, the term calendar is attached for your convenience.

Kind Regards

Visual Art Exhibition 2017

The John XXIII College’s Visual Art Exhibition runs from Tuesday 17  (Opening Night) to Saturday 21 October 2017. The Exhibition features artwork from both the Secondary and Primary school students.

Students participating in specialist Visual Art lessons from Year 3-6 will have a piece of artwork exhibited and a small selection from the Early Years will also be displayed. It is a great opportunity for parents and the community to view artwork across all years and for students to showcase their artwork. Everyone is invited to come along and see the students’ design and creativity skills with both 2D and 3D work from the range of forms being exhibited.

I look forward to seeing many visitors throughout the week.
