Dear Brunswick Nth West Community,
I hope you are all well and safe. Just letting you know there are Take Home Meals available this afternoon from Sprout. I won’t be cooking over the holidays, but I have some frozen meals available. If anyone needs a meal through the holiday period, please email me at sproutcanteen@gmail.com and I can meet you at the school for you to collect, alternatively, I may be able to deliver. Stay in touch and please reach out.
A quick note about Term 2. There is still much uncertainty, however, Sprout will continue to cook meals if permitted. We are also planning some fun ways to help you cook at home with the kids via video. We will teach you about some of your canteen faves and beyond! Watch this space, we will keep you posted.
In the meantime, stay safe, well, and go gently. Together we will weather this storm.
With love,
Kris

Dear parents, carers and school community
Wominjeka everyone,
We would first like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. We have never known this statement to be so heartfelt.
We know our school community. We know about your missing dog, the triple-layer birthday cake and the flat bike tyre. We know who is having lasagne tonight. We know that Fortnite now has helicopters and bees are a new addition to Minecraft. We know who’s been “borrowing” the down balls for lunchtime competitions. We know who stubbed their toe, who can sing the school’s song (there are officially twelve verses), and who hates kiwi fruit. We know whose farts are deadly. We know who’s been naming all the pigeons and who keeps taking rocks home. We know who is dreadful at the ukulele but keeps trying. We know which park has the riskiest (and coolest) play equipment. We know who is outstanding at playing cricket.
We’ve also laughed about the new toilet paper currency and how everything smells nice from all the handwashing. We know that facetime and zoom are a big thing. We know families are helping those in self-isolation with food drops offs and emotional support.
Sadly, we also know of the redundancies, the worries about our elderly and the uncertainty of the future.
We would like to thank the school community for all your support over the last few weeks. We have been informed that OSHC will return on Tuesday 14th April, but this date may change. We ask that you be patient, as we are receiving new information day by day. We are living in challenging times.
We will be taking a break during the Easter period but we will attend to your emails on the Tuesday after Easter. We will also be monitoring the situation at home and keeping everyone updated where we can.
School Holiday Program
As most of the School Holiday Programs have been canceled due to Coronavirus pandemic, we have been working to find a solution for those families who are working in the essential services and need child care during Easter Break.
I have been in contact with Ranita, Brunswick East Primary School OSHC Coordinator, and she is trying to organise a school holiday program in her school.
If you need child care please contact Ranita ASAP as they are going to make a decision if it is sustainable to run the school holiday program at swamy.ranita.r@edumail.vic.gov.au
Another school Holiday program is Carlton Gardens Primary School run by OSHClub 1300 395 735
Last Week
We had a small but enthusiastic bunch of little people join us for the last week of term.
We made the biggest cubby this school has ever seen. We ate treats like icy poles and Easter egg hunts. We played the best game of hide and seek ever.
All the best. Our love to you and your family.
