OUR FAITH

PRAYER
Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Your love. Send forth Your Spirit, and they shall be created. And you will renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
We pray ...
for all students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation; for the youth of our world and for those suffering the effects of the drought
YEAR OF YOUTH CROSS
Last week St Nicholas School received the Year of Youth Cross from St Edward’s South Tamworth. During the handover we were blessed with some much needed rain.
Throughout the week, wonder and awe filled the darkened area of the school auditorium stage area as students and staff visited, prayed and sat with the Year of Youth Cross. Outlined by only the lights from inside the cross, words like “majestic”, “inspiring”, “beautiful”, “amazing” were spoken by students and staff as they approached the cross for the very first time. Once the cross was then seen in full light, attention was captured from beginning to end by all as each grade wondered, questioned and explored the symbols and craftsmanship of the cross. The youth at our school (and the staff young at heart) were very much engaged and inspired by such an experience.
We would like to congratulate and thank Mr Patrick's on designing and crafting such a rich symbol of our faith for all to share. We would also like to thank the CSO staff for making such an experience happen.
The following are some reflections from students:
I thought that the cross was beautiful and expressed all of its features by picture. I felt as though it was telling a story. (Vienna)
I thought that the cross was extremely creative and beautiful. It represented so many different things that were very relevant now. It gave great inspiration for my Confirmation artwork. I also don’t know how Mr Patrick's could have come up with such a beautiful piece of artwork. (Claudia)
My thoughts are that it is very majestic. It represents to me that the birds are all different because everyone is different, no one is the same. (Bailey)
