Year 12 Exams Commence
Students across the State commenced Year 12 written exams on Wednesday, 31 November with their English exam. We hope for the very best outcomes for all our students undertaking Year 12 units.
While our Year 12 students are starting their exams, our Year 11 and 10 students are also facing exams in the coming weeks. These exams are very important learning experiences for all students as they build their confidence and skills in this important area that determines future pathways for many students. I encourage all our students to take these exams seriously so that they gain the best experience they can from them.
Following shortly after the exams, our Year 10 and 11 students will commence a “Head Start” program in which they will commence their 2019 VCE units or VCAL studies. Middle School Head Start follows shortly after. This will be a solid introduction to student work for 2019 and learning outcomes will also be completed so that all students have a flying start in 2019.
In the past fortnight, there has been significant material in the news around Year 12 students and negative behaviour during end-of-year celebrations. We couldn’t be more proud of our Year 12 students for the way they finished the year. They are amazing young adults who displayed the maturity and sense of community that we have come to expect of our most senior students.
Finally, a reminder, that the College will not run the usual Monday program on Monday, 5 November. Going by the experience of previous years, the expectation is that there will be very few students at the school. Those students who do attend will have an alternate learning program for the day. The day will be fully used by staff for important training and planning toward 2019.
