Library News

Last Wednesday, 22 May, the primary classes experienced National Simultaneous Storytime, which is an event involving over one million participants across Australia and New Zealand reading a book at the same time (or close enough to it!).

The book this year was the lovely ‘Alpacas with Maracas’ by Matt Cosgrove. Some classes watched and read it together, with 5LW watching it in the primary library. It was a lovely story about friendship, perseverance, and having fun. It certainly entertained the boys.

In the Senior Library we have a library competition happening. It is called ‘Books that Changed the World’, and involves staff and students selecting 14 books that they think changed the world. Googling will help find lists of these books. The competition is … does their list match mine?

I have selected 14 books, and will put pictures of these up on display next Monday. The person who matches the most with mine wins. So I encourage the boys from Year 7 onwards to get an entry in by the end of day Friday 24 May, and have the chance to win a $50 iTunes voucher.

Good luck!
