What a WONDERful expression of community!

On Thursday 16 May, students of the Blackfriars Primary Visual Art classes contributed to the first DREAMBig exhibition held at the Prospect Gallery. The exhibition is a collaboration of four local primary schools and will be on exhibit for a month. The evening was the launch and opened by the City of Prospect Mayor, David O'Loughlin.

We were pleased to have the Primary Art Club assist in hosting the evening. They offered the crowds delicious biscuits that our parent community had kindly donated, portrait biscuits made by Year 4H and a savoury spread carefully selected by the Art Club under the guidance of Anastasia from our Development Office.

Thank you to all the parents and staff that supported the event. To those who donated biscuits, your generosity was appreciated, and enjoyed. The attendance to the launch was impressive and a wonderful response. I have been contacted by members of the public after the event to congratulate the boys on how they represented the school and their superb effort.

Exhibiting your work can often present a variety of emotions but I hope pride was amongst the students and parents. I certainly was very proud of our community and the boys' effort to create their works of art. If you were unable to attend you can visit the Prospect Gallery for the next month to view the work.

I extend my thanks and appreciation to Mrs Hansen and Mr Stanborough for their efforts in making the exhibition an impressive representation of our Primary Visual Art Program.

What’s NEW!

Wacom tablets have arrived and the middle school classes with Mr Stanborough are currently participating in a workshop with Nathan from CDW studios. We look forward to seeing the results of painting digitally.
