College Council Student Ballot

College Council Student Ballot 2019

STUDENT MEMBER VACANCY (1)

As the number of nominating students for the ‘Student Member Category’ on Doncaster Secondary College Council is greater than the number of vacancies it is necessary to conduct a ballot. Delivery of the ballot paper to students is via this newsletter and also the compass newsfeed.  Please see the ballot paper attached below.

The College will supply blank envelopes as required. Envelopes are available at the General office.

Please note only completed ballot papers as per instructions on the ballot paper are valid.

Below are the names of the candidates who have nominated and their statements:

  • Anastasi Raftis
  • Ainsley Chase

Candidate: Anastasi Raftis (Year 9)

My name is Anastasi Raftis and I am a Year 9 student. I am standing for election because I would like to make a positive contribution to the school with my involvement on school council.

Doncaster Secondary College has given me many invaluable opportunities and experiences. I represented the Year 7’s in the 2017 Open Night, been part of the Student Connect and Wellbeing Team and worked with other students, teachers and parents in the Anti-Bullying Action team.

I am currently a Peer Leader, with my main goal being to help the Year 7’s have a successful and positive transition experience into D.S.C. I am also part of the SRC and the Connect Team Captain.

I enjoy helping others and improving the school in which we learn and grow in. I would be honoured to represent the student body on school council and support the school in its programs for our students.

Candidate: Ainsley Chase

Throughout my time at DSC I have been involved in various school clubs. Last year I was the Vice-President of the interact club and I am currently an SRC representative. I would love to continue service on the council as it has been pivotal in my personal and professional development in the past 12 months. I wish to pursue a career in the medical profession and I just returned from Canberra where I attended the National Youth Science Forum. I volunteer at my local calisthenics club with the younger age groups and in many other community programs.  In the past 5 years I have received countless awards, some of which; a merit, Doncaster Rotary club and Doncaster Lion’s club award. I want to improve student voice and be an approachable figure in the school for students to come and raise concerns or suggestions about the college.
