VCE Physical Education
Unit 3 & 4 12 PE students had an excursion to Richmond Football Club on Friday 23 August. They had a tour of the Punt Road facilities, watched part of a Richmond FC training session and then the students participated in a high performance training session, which included altitude training, a circuit training session and a recovery session in ice baths.

Japanese Model United Nations Assembly
On Thursday 22 August, five students studying Year 12 Japanese attended a Model United Nations Assembly which was held completely in Japanese. The theme of the meeting was Gender Equality: Empowering Women and Girls. Katie Barnshaw, Ayannah Blazek, Eleena Chang, Marion Scully and Diane Luo represented the United Kingdom. Students from various schools across Victoria represented other countries. After initial position statements from each country, there was vigorous debate in the caucus session. The UK challenged countries using customs and tradition as excuses to do more for gender equality. The day ended with amendments to the draft resolution. The MGSC students representing the UK put forward a new clause urging member states to educate young people about the importance of gender equality which was added to the resolution with a majority vote! It was a great end to a very challenging but rewarding day.

My Migrant Story
Year 9 students' showcased their projects examining their family’s migration to Australia at the My Migrant Story exhibition earlier this year. Along with their displays or film works, students could dress in an appropriate costume. It was very well attended and people voted for their favourite pieces of work.
At a recent Year 9 assembly we were able to present gifts to the special awards winners.
Congratulations to:
Shakeia Schaffer - Best costume
Cindy Hann - Best film
Jordy Murphy - People’s choice.
