Hi all,

We are indeed back into the full swing of school life, and the students continue to skip through the gates in the morning, which is a fantastic sight. I am looking forward to joining the Year 5/6 students on camp next week. Our students have missed out on a lot over the last two years, so it is brilliant that we can go. Camps are always good fun.

It has been a busy week involving interviews for the positions we recently advertised. We have been very impressed with the quality of applicants, which is very pleasing. We will keep you posted on the outcomes of the process.

A huge thank you to Clinton Brown, Nick and Lauren Traill, Jaymen and Jess Fletcher, Michal Forynski and Sharyn Fary for all their fantastic work in the Prep area over the weekend. We have some big plans to upgrade our outside areas, and the work completed over the weekend was superb. So on behalf of the entire Jamo community, we thank you.

Can I please ask all our parents to ensure they are parking in parking bays only at the beginning and end of school. We realise that it is difficult and gets extremely congested at these times. We have initiated conversations with the local council to have the 2-hour parking limits changed at these times to ensure parents can drop off and pick up their children but can’t park for lengths of time. We really do need your support to ensure congestion is kept to a minimum and all children are safe.

The painting of our buildings is slowly coming to an end. Rob and his team at NXT Gen Painting have done a brilliant job, and the school is looking great. Unfortunately, the weather hasn’t been overly kind to them over the course of the year; however, they have also been able to freshen up other areas of the school like both our gym spaces and the brick toilets that are looking much better. Thanks, Rob!

Ensuring our parents are up to date and informed of what is coming up is really important to us. We will continue to get dates out to you as soon as decisions are made, especially around the end of the year and the beginning of 2022.

Thank you to Cherine Owen and our Year 3/4 and 5/6 Teaching Teams, who have been incredibly busy ensuring that our Year 3 to 6 students can have their swimming lessons. It is such an important skill to have, especially with us living right on the beach. It really is a life skill and one I encourage all parents to take on board and ensure their children can swim.
