As the year finally draws to a close, it seems only fitting to celebrate student’s achievements in what can only be described as an unpredictable school year.
Unit 1 – 4 Product Design and Technology - Textile students, demonstrated a tremendous amount of resilience throughout remote learning. The creativity each student applied to both folio and practical work was outstanding.
Unit 2 students were each able to make a replica (1/4 scale) of their proposed garment whilst working remotely, others completed their garment with great success. Student’s ability to progress through folio and practical both onsite and remote was seamless.
Unit 4 students produced a range of detailed garments that each sought to convey a need or a message significant to their end-user/s. Complex processes used throughout each garment were completed to a high standard demonstrating the tireless effort students placed into even the smallest amount of detail.
I would also like to make a special mention of Gabi King, who’s garment and folio has currently been shortlisted for Top Designs. Our fingers are crossed that her work will be selected to for display at Melbourne Museum’s Top Designs 2022 exhibition.
I commend each student for their hard work and commitment throughout the 2021 school year. May you each enjoy your holidays.
