Parky Podcast: Southern FM Radio Program -

After another year of lockdowns and COVID restrictions, Parkdale was finally live on the air thanks to the 88.3 Southern FM School Program.

On Friday December 3rd Joss Jowzy and Jasmine Tounis were the first students to broadcast live for their 8-9am show. The girls were incredibly professional during their show covering the many Netflix programs they have watched in lockdown, the best places to dine in Melbourne and good book recommendations.

Students can sign up next year to be part of this radio show and be heard on the air. We look forward to hearing more of our students on radio in 2022!

Performing Arts

Well, that’s a wrap! 2021 was another turbulent year in Performing Arts, and after what has seemed an eternity of not being able to sing, act and dance - we can happily say that 2022 is looking very promising and eventful!

Our event list for 2022 is starting to take shape, and the year kicks off with Instrumental Music’s – Meet and Greet Night at the start of Term One. The fabulous Instrumental students have already started rehearsing for this event. We can’t wait to see what they perform next year, as we welcome our new students to this vibrant program!

The Year 10 Drama class have started their rehearsals this week for Dr Seuss’ – The Lorax. This will be showcased to primary schools in week 6 of Term One. There will be evening performances as well for this play, and tickets will be available to purchase next year.

Additionally, the VCE Theatre Studies class are currently auditioning for Agatha Christie’s famous murder mystery play – Murder on the Orient Express adapted by playwright Ken Ludwig. It’s bound to be an exciting evening of ‘whodunit’!

This is just the beginning of exciting events and performances in 2022. We look forward to welcoming you all back to the theatre for a new and exciting year of performance nights and events!
