Victor Hugo Exhibition

Following a research project on life in France in the 18th Century, students of year 10 French visited the National Library of Victoria in October to view an exhibition about the life and times of French author Victor Hugo and his famous novel Les Miserable, which captures the hardship and turbulence of those times.  The film / musical of the same name is based on this work. Costumes and film sets from the recent movie were also on display and students had an opportunity to dress up.

The excursion to the Victor Hugo exhibition was great. We were able to learn more about what it was like to live in France during those times, which was very interesting. We also found a crepe stand along the way, and ate nutella crepes which were delicious!

The Victor Hugo exhibition was insightful in that it really gave an in depth perception of what inspired Hugo to write the world renowned and celebrated story that is called Les Miserables.
