Principal's Report

It’s hard to believe that there are only 2 weeks of school left for the year. Our students from Prep through to Year Six have shown great maturity, flexibility and resilience as they adapt back to full time schooling onsite. We are working hard to ensure the final weeks of the school year are fully focused on student learning but also includes fun activities (year level excursions) which they have missed out on over the past 2 years.

School Council

Our final school council for 2021 was held this week.  I presented our indicative budget which is a very important step for 2022 planning.

I cannot thank our school council enough for their flexibility this year, ensuring that we meet to discuss things that affect our school and going through the tender process for our out of hours care provider.  Their support and understanding has been much appreciated.

Emma Boag (President), Tracey Mottorshead (Treasurer), Jaime Humphrey, Rowan Balzary, Jay Brouwer, Angela Stacey, Nicola Pepepr, Sally Fowler, Candy Warburton, Laura Elton, Zlata Lizars and Michael Kramer – Thank you!

Class Construction and Step Up

Grade construction is almost complete, and students have already completed their first step-up session, learning about what the expectations are and some of the wonderful things they will do next year.  Students will meet their new teacher on December 13th.

Grade construction is an incredibly time-consuming process in schools, taking into account many things including: equal class sizes, the number of males and females, additional needs, parent requests, students’ friendships and academics to name a few.  Mr B spends countless hours on this and has done an excellent job.

Around the School Grounds

As if Mr B hasn’t been busy enough, he has also been successful in gaining a grant for us to put up a new shade sail over the Year 6/play leaders’ area.  This is another nice addition to our school making another nice area to play.

We will be getting new aluminium window frames installed on the Year 5 classrooms over the school holidays.

Please Remember

Our school gate doesn’t open until 8.20am and 3.20pm.

The new gate down on the back soccer pitch has been well used and is now open after school should you find it more practical for your journey home!

Have a great fortnight,

Mark Moorhouse
