Careers and Pathways Roles at the College in 2022
The College is expanding careers and pathways support and in 2022 the Careers and Pathways team will include:
Careers and Pathways Coordinator, Elly Martin
Key areas of responsibility include the provision of general career and course information and counselling for students, as well as communication of relevant careers information, opportunities and programs to the College community. This role is the first point of contact for careers enquiries including those from students, staff, parents and tertiary institutions. This role is also responsible for the management of the career resource area and career programs. Available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,
Applied Learning Leader and Careers Teacher, Ben Cunningham
Key areas of responsibility include the provision of careers information and support for students whom are part of an applied learning program within the College as well as the primary contact for students undertaking Vocational Education and Training and/or Structured Workplace Learning as part of their applied learning program.
Careers Teacher, Siobhan Thomas
Key areas of responsibility are yet to be determined, but will function in support of the Careers and Pathways Coordinator, particularly on Monday and Friday.
Careers and Pathways is seeking alumni input – can you or maybe your adult children/siblings help?
The Careers and Pathways team are aiming to put together a Career Conversation and Engagement Calendar for 2022.
We are hoping this can include inspiring stories and the opportunity for a conversation with past Marist-Sion students who have found success in their career journey or chosen pathway. We are hoping to get enough community support that we can hold this on a weekly basis and make it accessible to any interested students by having it during a break. Ideally, we would love to show case a range of roles, industries and pathways. We are open to both in-person and technology-assisted input, so if you, or someone you know, might be interested in participating, please make contact with Elly Martin – emartin@mscw.vic.edu.au
