WELCOME YEAR 7

Year 7 2014

Year 7 students were welcomed to Kew High on Thursday 30 January. The day started with an assembly and then students got to know their teachers and fellow students in a variety of activities. Year 10 Peer Support Leaders took  the Year 7s through a number of games and familiarisation tasks to help them get to know each other and to find their way around their new school. The day finished with another brief assembly before tired and happy students made their way home.

Year 7 Barbecue

Every year  Kew High has a barbecue for the year 7 families to meet the students’  teachers and also for the students’ families to meet each other. On the same night, there is also information given out to the parents and students about the school and all of the activities, like the swimming carnival.

This year, nearly all of the year 7s and their families were there, since there was the added incentive of picking up new laptops. They all enjoyed the barbecue, kindly organised by the QNetwork. They had beef sausages and vegetarian sausages, and there were also icy poles for dessert. 

The year 7 barbecue was great and families and teachers got to meet each other and get to know each other.
