New STEM Building : end of year update

Dear students, parents, carers and the wider school community,
As you may be aware, our school received funding in the 2020-21 State Budget to deliver the next stage of our master plan, which includes a new library and Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) building.
In collaboration with the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) and the Department of Education and Training, we developed an Asset Management Plan (AMP) for our school. This plan has been endorsed and will help ensure our building plans support our educational direction and long-term vision for Northcote High School.
We have worked with Kerstin Thompson Architects and the VSBA to review our existing master plan and ensure it reflects the school’s priorities and curriculum needs. We also developed a spatial analysis plan to evaluate the constraints and opportunities of our school’s existing facilities and buildings. This will help ensure our current project meets the educational requirements of our students and will also help us plan for any potential future projects, should Northcote High School be successful in obtaining further capital works funding.
Our project will now head into the initial stages of design, with this milestone forecast for completion in Term 1 2022.
I look forward to sharing more exciting updates with you as our project progresses.
If you have any further questions about the works at Northcote High School, you can phone the VSBA on 1800 896 950, email vsba@education.vic.gov.au or visit the VBSA website.
