Basketball Results

U8 GS Magic

The GS Magic had a tough game against the very talented St Aggies on Monday afternoon.  A lack of defensive pressure allowed St Aggies to get off to a flying start.  The Magic started to control the game towards half time, but in the end, we went down 10-25.  Jake and Jonte made an immediate impact when they came off the interchange, Shaurya scored some valuable baskets and Raewyn applied plenty of defensive pressure all match.

Scorers: Jake (6 pts) and Shaurya (4 pts).

Year 2/3 GS Rockets

It was a top of the table clash Wednesday afternoon when the second place GS Rockets took on the first place and undefeated St. David’s Kings.  The challenge was there – beat the top side and take top spot.  The Rockets played as a team all game.  Players passed accurately, took it upon themselves to man up and the team moved the ball forward with speed, which attracted multiple fouls from the opposition.  In the end, we secured a thrilling 12-10 win.  Well done Oscar, Blake, Rhys, Jayden, Downey and Lorenzo.

Scorers: Jayden (8 pts) and Oscar (4 pts).

Year 5/6 GS Shooters

It was a competitive start to our game against Keithcot Gold, but with 5 minutes remaining our team shot 4 quick goals, giving us a 12 point lead going into the second half. Our opposition came back fighting and managed to get within 6 points. However the GS Shooters stayed strong, finishing with the win 28 to 13. We play our last game for the season next week and then it's finals.

A challenge we worked on at training is for our players to move more within our goal area to be available for teammate passes. Let's make the most of our final games together!

Scorers: Alistair (18 pts), Dhairya and Oscar (4 pts each) and Hayden (2 pts).
