Principal's Report

Back in Lockdown!

Yesterday the Acting Premier announced new circuit breaker restrictions for Victoria to swiftly address the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

The restrictions commenced at 11.59pm last night and will remain in place for a seven-day period.

Following advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all Victorian schools will move to a period of remote and flexible learning from Monday 31 May to Thursday 3 June inclusive.

Today is a student-free day to allow schools time to prepare. Remote and flexible learning will begin on Monday 31 May.

Our P-2 students will once again be using Seesaw and our Year 3-6 students Google Classroom.

The students have been provided with their log in details and will be expected to log on for their first classroom meeting on Monday morning.

Year 5/6          9.00am

Year 3/4          9.20am

Year 1/2          9.40am

Foundation      10.00am

Each day students will be provided with a minimum of three learning activities: reading, writing and mathematics and one lesson from each specialist class for the week.

It is expected that students attend the morning roll or they will be marked as absent for that day. If you experience technical issues, please contact the office on 9844 2757 and we will let your child’s teacher know.

There will be a daily follow up classroom meeting to share work and reflect on the day’s learning. These times are as follows:

Year 5/6          12.00pm

Year 3/4          12.20pm

Year 1/2          12.40pm

Foundation      1.00pm

As with other remote learning periods, our school will provide on-site supervision for students in the following categories:

  • Children where both parents and/or carers are authorised workers who cannot work from home, work for an essential provider and where no other supervision arrangements can be made:
    • Where there are two parents/carers, both must be authorised workers, working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision
    • For single parents/carers, the authorised worker must be working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision.

  • Children experiencing vulnerability, including:
    • children in out-of-home care
    • children deemed vulnerable by a government agency, funded family or family violence service, and is assessed as requiring education and care outside the family home
    • children identified by a school or early childhood service as vulnerable, including via referral from a government agency, or funded family or family violence service, homeless or youth justice service or mental health or other health service.

If your child requires on-site supervision, please contact the office on 9844 2757.

The same arrangements apply to our Outside School Hours Care service.

Information is available to support your child’s learning from home.
