Principal's Message

Aspire Celebrate Reflect

Dear Parents,

This week amongst our staff we spoke about appreciation, and what, and who, we have to be thankful for. I would like to show my appreciation by thanking staff at St Philip’s College for fostering and cultivating such a positive learning environment.

This week is just an example of the many different events, activities and learning opportunities available to your children. We have our Year 7 students discovering the surrounds of Wallaby Gap on their expedition, making new friends and learning new skills.

During our Middle School assembly on Wednesday, Performing Arts students were operating lighting and sound and acting on stage in front of their peers. Tonight, we have our annual Round Square 6 Hour Sports event where students will be raising money for Martho Tey Seran, a past exchange student-teacher at St Philip’s whose home village in Indonesia was recently devastated by flash floods and landslides.

These positive learning environments allow our students to thrive and excel in all aspects of their education, and I'm thankful for each and every person who assists in making them happen.

We have four weeks left of Term 2 and more exciting events coming up. On 9th & 10th June  our senior Performing Arts students will be performing in this year’s Senior Play, A Doll’s House. Tickets for A Doll’s House can be found here and we are looking forward to seeing all their hard work come to fruition.

On Saturday, 19 June the P&FA Quiz Night and Sporting Memorabilia Auction is happening. It’s been a while since we’ve hosted a Quiz Night and everyone is getting very excited at the prospect of having a night of fun, questions and games. Tickets for the Quiz Night can found be here.

With only four weeks to go, I hope your child/children are happy with their progress towards attaining the goals they set themselves for this term.

Thank you and Be Kind Always,

~ Mr Roger Herbert
