Awesome Staff

Isla Noakes is a real treasure - a Taonga Nui. She has an incredible passion for children, for learning and for music. Her musical talents were put to good use for our new school song. I wrote the lyrics and wanted to apply them to John Denver's 'Take Me Home Country Roads', but the register he sang the song in was not suitable for children's natural range and register. So Isla reworked it at home and emailed me the soundtrack.

We will redo it with a few more talented staff here - Mark McLay and Aaron McGreal - and get the recording quality a bit higher than emailable quality.

Isla did a brilliant job and we introduced the song for the first time at Friday's Whanau Time.

I used my drone to capture some aerial footage early in the morning and we have a working version.

Isla features in the Play Based Learning footage near the end of the song.

Awesome Support Staff:

This week is Support Staff Week, a week where we celebrate the heroines of our school who contribute so much to the success of this wonderful place.

We have a staff of 66 (at last count), and the strength, success and awesome reputation of our school is down to all of them. Every single one of them does a stellar job. Every single one is passionate, committed and cares deeply about our children.

Our Support Staff are all our non-teaching staff - though in reality many do a lot of teaching and have the capabilities to be qualified teachers should they choose to go down that career path. Suffice it to say I and my team of teachers all feel incredible blessed and fortunate to have such a wonderful Support Staff team here - they are amazing and our children benefit hugely because of them.

On our behalf, your behalf and on behalf of our Board I sincerely thank every single one of them.

Awesome Tanya Boyd:

Tanya has completed her   studies and recently graduated.

We are very proud of her and her achievements - especially as much of this had to be done during Covid19, so Tanya did not have the helpful face to face support opportunities.
