NAPLAN Testing
Online NAPLAN testing has now concluded. We are extremely proud of the way our students have conducted themselves during the tests. They have been overwhelmingly well behaved and have concentrated hard to make the most of their allocated test time and perform at their best. This is no easy feat, given how difficult it is for children to keep completely silent for extended periods of time, while answering challenging questions for an external testing program. We are also very pleased with the patience the students have shown during the administration and log-in time at the beginning of each test, and the calm manner they have displayed during and after each test.
Once again, the online testing platform has proved to be very stable, considering the thousands of online tests being conducted simultaneously across the country. Unsurprisingly, given that we have completed over 1600 NAPLAN tests in the last fortnight, there has been a small handful of students who experienced technical disruptions during one of their tests; in every case, students have been able to complete their tests at another time to ensure they had their total allocated time available.
NAPLAN results will be mailed home to parents of students in Year 3, 5, 7 & 9 as soon as they become available, probably late in Term 3. Please ensure that the College has an up-to-date mailing address for your family, to ensure that the results are sent to the correct home address.
I would like to wholeheartedly thank Miss Felicity Donohue, who has now completed her first experience as NAPLAN Co-ordinator. She has put in many, many hours of work to ensure that all of our NAPLAN students could perform at their best in a calm and productive environment. Thanks are also due to our wonderful IT staff, who have worked hard to support teachers and students in accessing the online test tools.
Finally, thank you to all parents who have reassured their children about any NAPLAN-related anxiety.
