This Week's Mug Recipient

It has been a long standing tradition among the staff at O'Connor Catholic College to present at our Monday morning staff briefings 'the mug' which is for 'The Educator Most Unsung'. This week it went to Mr Michael Wooster. It was presented by the previous recipient, Miss Lauren Donnelly and she expressed her appreciation for Michael's willingness to help staff and students, particularly in the literacy area. Well done Mr Wooster.

Ethics Olympiad

On Monday last week O'Connor's Ethics Olympiad team participated in an Ethics based competition. Students were able to nut out various ethical issues with the guidance of the convener and it proved to be a great way for Angus, Jean, Joel, Claude and Roie to challenge themselves in this important area. 

NAPLAN Testing completed for 2021

Last week at the College, the NAPLAN tests were conducted for Years 7 and 9. 

 

There were 16 different sessions over the seven days. Our students were outstanding in their effort and test discipline. Many thanks to all the staff who helped run these sessions.

Makaala Dodd Wins Diocesan Award 

The Spirit of Catholic Education Awards were held on Monday in Armidale. Congratulations to Makaala Dodd who won the Student Catholic Spirit Award for our Diocese.

Makaala is always involved in both her education and learning but also the wider aspects of life at a Catholic School with a special focus on helping others. Well done Makaala!
