Room 13

It has been a very happy and productive start to Term 2. Students have been excited to see their classmates and share in some new learning experiences.

We have begun our exploration into the stories and events of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through our focus on the Dreamtime. We have been reading Dreamtime stories about animals and the formation of geographical landmarks. One of the students’ favorites has been ‘How The Birds Got Their Colours’ told by Mary Albert. We spent the morning bird watching in the serpent garden before creating our own birds with colourful feathers.

In maths students have been participating in a variety of activities to build their skills and understanding of number. Room 13 has also begun to look at pattern, developing skills in sorting and classifying, creating patterns with objects and drawings and observing patterns in the world. It has been wonderful to see students working together and having fun making patterns.
