VCAL 2021

The Year 12 VCAL  technology class has managed to finish the latest mural that was started last year. This is the first of the House Murals for the College. McAuley Sharks are the first House to be represented. We have looked at sustainability in using recycled plastic lids once again. This was a project that will hopefully inspire everyone to bring in lids (washed first please).

We used Marine Ply, exterior paint, screws and sealed with a spray varnish to last long term.   I would like to acknowledge Jarrel Sharma, Manuel Kor, Harry Nguyen and Leo Dipacce who all worked on the mural this year collaboratively. I am very proud of the outcome.

If anyone has a contact or able to donate sheets or off cuts that the VCAL students could continue to use for smaller and larger projects please contact me at the College.

Thank you.

NCCA Coffee Cart & Student Barista Training

The NCCA recently invested in a portable Coffee Cart for the College!

Year 10 LEAP student volunteers attended a full day Barista Training Course with Five Senses Coffee in West Melbourne.

Mrs Naomi Pernar, who accompanied the students, was most impressed with their quick learning of new skills and enthusiasm.

The day ended with a group competition, which was strongly contested, with nine different hot beverages prepared.

Groups were assessed on the quality and appearance of their drinks.

The NCCA Coffee Cart will fully operational by the end of Term 2 and we will advertise when parents can pop in for a fresh brew.

Well done to Baristas – Sarah Mortensen, Mackenzie Easton, Kyle Steve, Chris Wallace, Regan Lim, Grace Carney, Kali Brinduse and Sienna Assetta.

We look forward to having you serve us at the cart.
