Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Assembly

On Monday 24 May 2021 it was fantastic to be able to come together as a whole school community to be able to celebrate some great efforts and achievements throughout the first term and half of Term 2. Ms Mish Mackay put together a wonderful photographic reflection on the many activities of the year to date.  Students were acknowledged for achievement at the Business Expo, in ICAS  and Sport. We heard from the Students Action Team and enjoyed some great music, including a promotion for our upcoming Grease Production. When we cast our mind back 12 months we are very grateful for the opportunity to be together and grow in unity and celebrate as a whole school community.

Winter

As we move towards winter and the second half of the term it is time for us all to grow in the virtue of perseverance and continue to work hard. I think this is a good time to reflect on our goals and reassess, setting some short term goals. We continue to desire to be there for students so each student can achieve success and growth. What that looks like is different for each and every student, but perseverance is certainly the road to growth and success.

Uniform and Lateness

Throughout this term we have noted that there have been more students than we would like coming late to class and also not wearing the uniform as expected. To assist students to be respectful of others and our community, and display this through punctuality and wearing the uniform correctly, students who are out of uniform or late to class or school could be receiving a Lunchtime Community Service. We will implement this process to try and help members in our community to grow. We are very grateful for the many students that consistently wear our uniform well and look forward to this number growing.

Trial Evacuation

Last week the whole school participated in a trial Evacuation.  It is important to conduct these trials  frequently to familiarise students and staff  with the emergency evacuation procedures.   A meeting was held afterwards to review the trial and lots of suggestions were discussed and positive feedback given.
