Year 10 Occupational Health and Safety Training

Last week, in preparation for Work Experience, all Year 10 students undertook their safe@work General module and Industry Specific module to ensure they understand the safety measures associated with the workplace to ensure that they can remain safe during the last week of term.

We had outside presenters delivering the sessions and then students had to undergo tests resulting in certificates that they can show their Work Experience workplace.

The behavior and commitment that the students displayed during this day long incursion was fantastic.

I am looking forward to seeing our students out in the workplace in just one short month !!

Year 12 Careers Expo

On 14 May, Year 12 students attended the Careers Expo at The Melbourne Showgrounds. This was a valuable opportunity to glean information on possible career paths for our students next year. I was very impressed with how our students embraced this opportunity.

Students from Years 10, 11 and 12 should be researching pathways and courses that may be of interest to them, remembering that a GOOD decision is an INFORMED decision.  This can be done through Expos, Open Days and the VTAC website which houses information on university and TAFE courses. www.vtac.edu.au
