News from Rick in PE

CRICKET…

Our sporting schools grant ($3000) has enabled us to have specialised cricket coaches from Cricket Victoria come into our school and host all of our Year 3/4 students over a four week period. Also due to this we will be attending an upcoming cricket carnival that 40 of our students have been selected to attend. Although the recent weather hasn’t been kind our students have soldiered through skill and game sessions in Phys Ed to compliment the expert sessions.

SWIMMING…

Students from Foundation to Year 4 are currently in the final stages of their swimming program. The feedback from teaching staff and from Swim and Survival Academy has been extremely positive. Particularly, student behaviour, effort and having a positive attitude to complete all the tasks required. Our Year 5/6 students will be this week involved in our Open Water Swimming program conducted by experienced staff from Life Saving Victoria.

CAMPS…

Year 3 students will be attending Cave Hill Creek Camp next week. Students will have the great opportunity to participate in activities such as archery, canoeing, mountain bike riding, bouldering and a high/low ropes course. Having been on numerous occasions, the location, food and staff are an A-Plus experience. Staff attending are Ms Bigmore, Mrs Nissen, Louie, Julie and Tammy.

Rebel Sport – Credit

A big thank you to all families who have contributed to the Rebel Sports Credit program and have nominated MRPS as their preferred destination. I will this week be going shopping and spending our $1,122.72 in credit. Thanks for your ongoing support.
