Wollaston Dash

Congratulations to Charter House on winning the Wollaston Dash on Tuesday. A special mention goes to members of the winning Charter team including Israel Ngoy (Year 8), Noemi Taverniti (Year 7), Liam Palmer (Year 12), Yaveen Wickramasinghe (Year 10), Chelsea Muchandibaya (Year 11) and Sophie Coales (Year 9). 

 

Krystal Thornton

Congratulations to Year 1 student, Krystal Thornton who recently won several ribbons at the Lil Britches horse show at Horsemans Pony Club. Her most favourite achivement was the encouragement award which is awarded to a participant who has shown showmanship and manners. Well done Krystal!

Abby Gleadhill

Congratulations to Year 12 student, Abby Gleadhill who picked up the Local Artist Award for her piece titled Conservation vs Urbanisation at the Outside the Frame Art Awards. Acting Head of Arts, Luke Morgan said "Congratulations Abby! It is pleasing to see that her hard work and creativity have been acknowledged by winning this award. Abby's drawing highlights important, ongoing environmental concerns and through this exhibition her message has reached a wider audience in the community."

Rhys Du Ross 

Congratulations to Year 11 student, Rhys Du Ross who was selected to take part in interSECTION, the stand alone South Metropolitan TAFE Fashion Show at Fashion Central Perth Fashion Festival (PFF) on Saturday  8 September.  Rhys is completing a Certificate II in Applied Fashion Design and Technology at South Metropolitan TAFE. His crochet pictured below was made from torn up t-shirts inspired by heritage craft. We can't wait to see it on the catwalk next month Rhys!

Patrick Colley

Congratulations to Year 12 student, Patrick Colley who recently took part in two national level army cadet activities. In April he went to Canberra for the National Adventure Training award and in July he competed in the Chief of Army Cadet Team Challenge in Victoria where he led the winning team. Patrick is heading to New Zealand in October to compete in the New Zealand Skill at Arms competition.  Best of luck in the competition Patrick!

Sydnee Hopkins and Cameron Turner

The “Out of the Woods” Competition and Exhibition is Western Australia's premier wood Working Competition organised by the Fine Wood Work Association (WA) Inc. The competition is open to all, with over twenty categories covering every form of woodworking. This year 17 of our Years 8, 9 and 10 students entered pieces along with 12 other schools. Sydnee Hopkins won second place in the Year 9 category with her jewellery box and Cameron Turner won third place with a jarrah and pine chopping board he made in Year 8. Well done to Sydnee and Cameron and all our nominees!
