Happy Artists
Our students from the 3/4 area have been very busy with 'Squiggle Art'.
They started with a paint squiggle on their paper and were asked to create a drawing out of the squiggle, then color it in with oil pastels. All the students were very particular and enjoyed being creative to produce an individual piece of artwork.
Many pieces of our students fabulous artwork are displayed in the administration building corridor, pop in and have a look. At the moment there is a display of the 1/2 area 'Every Child Is...' artwork. This is very colorful and expressive.
Umbrella Donations
Our Prep teachers are looking for donations of old/broken umbrellas. If you have an old or broken one you no longer need, please drop it into the Prep classrooms.
The teachers are hoping to make palm trees out of them for our upcoming Easter Liturgy.
Thank You

PHONOLOGICAL AWARENESS
FIRST SOUND AWARENESS:
The Food Game - Watch what you eat! Each child stands and tells the group the name of a food they like that starts with the same sound as their own name. The activity could be extended to include an item they don’t like to eat as well. For example, I’m Fiona and I like to eat fish but I don’t like to eat frogs.
FINAL SOUND AWARENESS:
I Spy: Identify an object in the room and say I spy with my little eye something that ends with the sound /m/ room, bum, plum, ram, etc. (Make sure to use the sound not the letter name).
This activity can be replicated with other sounds.
