Our PBIS student of the week comes from the 1/2 area.

Mr Woodward and the 5/6 teachers think that this student is a great asset to the 5/6 area.  She is really shining in her Reading Group, sharing her opinions and being respectful of others.   It is great to see this student holding a conversation with the adults in the area with her fantastic sense of humour.  Keep up the great work Chrissy!

Congratulations Chrissy Smith on being our PBIS Student Of the Week!

Well done and keep on Shining!

Term 3 Week 1 PBIS Report

Welcome back to Term 3.  We hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and a wonderful beginning to Term 3.

We will begin Term 3 with a new blitz. You may have seen some posters around the school saying “Too Far, Ignore, walk, talk”

This is a strategy that our school is using to help students to try and deal with an awkward situation themselves, helping us to focus on resilience.

If someone is doing something that makes you feel uncomfortable and they keep doing it, you can say “Too Far”.   Hopefully that person will think about their actions and stop what they are doing.

For example

What should you do if someone has said “TOO FAR” to me?  If someone says “Too Far” to you - you need to back off OR Leave the area”.

If they don’t stop, you need to keep doing what your’re doing - IGNORE the other person's behaviour and get on with your activity. If they STILL don’t stop, you can move somewhere else - WALK away yourself or help someone else walk away.

If the first two strategies don’t work, get help from an adult and TALK.  Tell them about what you have done to try and stop the situation.

It is really important to remember - If you think that the behaviour is dangerous, destructive or threatening, you should go straight to TALK and tell an adult STRAIGHT AWAY.

Teachers will be helping students with this strategy in class and there will also be a clip to help you understand a little better.

Week 1 Term 3 PBIS Award Winner

Our PBIS student of the week is from the 5/6 area.

The teachers in the 5/6 area have been very impressed with the way this student has been using the PBIS strategies such as ‘Too far, ignore, walk and talk.  This is a sign that this student is a resilient person who can work through difficult situations. She is a genuine person and she makes the classroom a happy place to be.  Well done Mia!

Congratulations Mia Pearson on being our PBIS Student Of the Week!

Well done and keep on helping to make the classroom a happy place!
