ST MARYS PARISH AND BINGO COMMITTEE

To Parents, grandparents and Parishioners.

We are desperate for more help with running Bingo.

Bingo has been running for a long time – some 35 years.  In that time it has provided money for the Parish in supporting and maintaining large capital items and general running of the Parish and school.  Recent years, Bingo has provided $12,000 per year ($3,000 per term) to the school.  This money has been used for a number of capital items around the school, including the assisting in the purchase of adjacent land for car park on Hall street, upgrade of senior playground, to name a few.

In raising this money, we need support.  We have a Committee of six people, who mostly attend each week to the running of Bingo.  To assist them, we need an extra 4 to 5 people each week.  Some tasks take 2 to 3 hours, some take less.  Once a week every nine weeks.   NOT A BIG ASK…

EXAMPLE OF TASKS:

Ticket selling                                     6.30 to 9.30                         3  hours

Canteen/Kiosk Duties                   6.30 to 9.00                         2.5 hours

Floor Walker – Calling back tickets to Caller – No Computer work (area most in need)                                                                                                 7.30  to 10.00                      2.5 hours

Caller – work with computer    7.30  to 10.00                      2.5  hours

Bingo is held in the Marian Centre and you work with other people in each of the tasks, never on your own. At this stage we are 6 people short for a nine week roster.  You would work with both the school and parish community.

The roster includes Committee, Parishioners and school community members and is a great chance to meet people involved in a great community service to the people of Mooroopna and surrounds, as well as  earning money for our great school and Parish community.
