Year 3 Boys and Girls

Year 3 Boys & Girls Group

Each Tuesday afternoon, our Year 3 students participate in Boys and Girls Group lessons. These sessions have a student wellbeing focus. It's a great opportunity for our Year 3 students to work together and get to know students and teachers from other grades.

In Week 1 we talked about different emotions and ways of expressing how we feel, with a particular focus on body language. Students performed role plays and freeze frames depicting various emotions.

In Week 2 students worked together in small groups on a science and technology challenge. Their task was to construct the tallest tower they could using only 30 straws and masking tape. Teams discussed various ways of supporting their towers and how to modify their designs for improved stability and/or height. Our winning team constructed a tower with a height of 1.26 metres!!!

Well done to Christopher M (3/4E), Baden H (3/4K) and Cooper W (3/4M) for their efforts!!!
