Senior School

Thank you to parents

Thank you to all of the parents that have helped out in any way this year.  There are too many to name individually but your assistance from volunteering at excursions and camp, inter-school sports to being a classroom representative makes our job so much easier.  Thanks and enjoy the festive season from everyone in Senior School.

Graduation and Gumbuya World

Next Tuesday, December 17, the Year 6s will be having their graduation ceremony.  Can parents please ensure that their child is at school by no later then 5.45 pm.  The hall will be opened at this time for those attending to grab a seat.  Again, thank you to the parents that have formed committees and have assisted in any way possible to make the event a success.  We still require 1 or 2 Year 5 parents to assist on the night.

Next Thursday the 19th, the Year 6s will be having their end of year celebration at Gumbuya World.  Can parents please ensure that students arrive at school by 8.15 am so we can get on our way as quickly as possible.  A reminder that lunch is provided and that students are expected to attend in full school uniform with their school-logoed hat, sunscreen, a water bottle as well as swimming attire and a towel.

School Captains' Report

The year has gone by so fast! This year we had so many events including the Whole School Swimming, Deakin Science, Book Fair, Colour Fun Run which is raised almost $10,000, we had the production (Brand New Me), Billy Tree Bush Band, the Envision project, Footy day, the Christmas Concert and Weeden's got Talent.

Our school has improved so much over the past years, and we would like to thank the teachers, peers and the parent helpers for helping us to improve the school.

(OLIVIA'S HIGHLIGHTS)

A few of my highlights were being a lead role in the production (Brand New Me). I was one of the cool kids, Susie. Another one of my highlights was going to Lady Northcote camp.  The best activity would be going on the giant swing and canoeing.

(EMILIO'S HIGHLIGHTS)

Some of my highlights would be Deakin Science. We worked very hard on our projects and we were pleased with our results.  The Colour Fun Run was also my favourite memory.  I was covered in blue paint by the time we were done!

(ANNA'S HIGHLIGHTS)

Two of my favourite highlights would be the Swimming Competition and the Book Fair! I did so well in the breaststroke race that I got into Division. I also dressed up as Sherlock Holmes for the Book Fair, since he is my favourite character.

On behalf of the Year 6s we would like to thank everyone for giving us the opportunity to be ourselves. Our primary school years would not be complete without the help of the school community. We are all sad that we have to leave, but we will always have Weeden Heights in our hearts. Thank you!
