Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Dear Parents, students and the wider community,

To borrow a line from Franki Valli, "Oh what a night". At St Anne's we often speak about enrolling a family rather than a student and on Saturday night you could see one of the benefits of that. In their finest interpretations of "Jungle theme" parents and staff shared a brilliant night together. All credit to the P & F organising team, quizmasters Andrew and Michelle McCormack and compere Mr Michael Bush on a great night at our annual Trivia Night. Working together to raise funds for enhancing our front playground was a whole lot of fun. Thank you to all that have worked so hard to make this evening happen and for the success of the night. Your efforts were much appreciated.

Tuesday night many of you  heard from Hugh Van Cuylenberg at John Paul College. There were 1300 people attending which means the event was almost oversubscribed. This has been an amazing result for our cluster of schools who work together to educate the students of the John Paul College region and to assist families with their important role as parents. Reports were it was an excellent evening for those that were able to attend.

On Thursday some of our students joined students and staff at St Augustine's in Frankston to be commissioned as our Fire Carrier leaders. At school the Fire Carriers role is to promote and grow our students understanding, and celebration of, Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage from the past, in the present and for the future.

Today 1/ 2 LW helped lead Mass with Fr Benneth. We celebrated the Feast Day of Mary McKillop- Australia's only Saint. We also celebrated Fr Benneth's birthday! Well done to you all.

Please be aware that there have been a few syringes found in and around the public toilets in the back carpark. If possible do not allow your children to go in there unless supervised. The Council and Police have been notified.

Looking ahead to next week Interschool Sport and Circus Skills continue. We also have an Author visit next Friday to commence our annual Book week celebrations. Thanks to Mrs brooking for her organisation with this.

God bless

Rod Shaw,

Principal
