Classroom News - Year 2

WELCOME

Welcome to Year 2 for  2019!

We are Mrs Liz Fitzgerald and Mrs Kym Godwin. We are very excited to be the Year 2 teachers for 2019!

The children are settling in well to our new classrooms and are very happy to be up the top with the BIG kids. The cohort seems to be a cheerful, friendly and enthusiastic group.

They are really enjoying going to the paddock for their first lunch play and this seems to be working well.

Our Classrooms are next to each other in the old Indonesian room and Teachers Meeting room, near the Stage 2 classrooms. We are looking forward to getting to know you all much better this year.

Hopefully the children have all the items they need for the school year, such as a pencil case with textas, coloured pencils, at least one glue stick, an eraser, a box of tissues, a paint shirt and a library bag. Please make sure your child's name is on all of their belongings.

PLEASE NOTE!

Library and Music Day is THURSDAY!

PE will be most days , however children wear their yellow sports uniform on WEDNESDAY!

Sport Day is Friday and children wear their coloured house shirt on FRIDAY

INFORMATION NIGHT

There is an Information Night for parents on Monday 11th February. This will be an ideal opportunity to let you know about all our classroom timetables, programs and processes. There are a few changes this year and it will help your child if you are fully aware of them and how they impact on daily organisation for you and your family. You can just come and have a look at your child's classroom, where they spend most of their day. We are looking forward to seeing you on Monday night, or around the school grounds. Please introduce yourself if you haven’t already done so.

This year is going to be a wonderful year!

HOMEWORK

Homework will be completely different this year. We will explain it all at the Information Night.

The Home Reading Scheme will be the main Homework focus, and children will take home their first books after our Information Evening. Please keep a record of what they read, even if it is NOT a book.
