Maker Space

Welcome to 2019!

The Makerspace program has been expanding yearly  with more equipment, enthusiastic members and more great ideas from both staff and students.

Photography club will continue to meet every Monday @ lunchtime. New members are always welcome.

We have lots of  events planned throughout the year, externally and internally and the only way to be a part of them is to be an active member.

What does the Photography club do?

Well in short, you will be exposed to the full workings of a DSLR camera and its manual mode settings, how to operate and what each setting does. In order to maximise the quality of the photo and produce those professional looking images that you just can’t create on a smart phone.

Taking the photo is only the start of the process. You will be exposed to Adobe products (mainly photoshop and Lightroom) to edit and develop the photos that are taken in RAW format before exporting to a usable JPG image to distribute for publication.

The skills taught and required to do this are real world skills that are used by professionals worldwide. We have access to state of the art gear, and the school subscribes to the full Adobe suite. All these are available for student use at no cost. All you need to do is turn up and show a little passion!

We will arrange incursions and excursions throughout the year. In the past we have arranged trips to the Zoo with Canon Australia, Animal macro shoot, light painting workshops, school Athletics, school swimming sports and the Year 11 Formal to name a few.

Sign up to be involved in this year’s activities or come and talk to George in the Maker Space if you have any questions.
