National Day Against Bullying and Violence

Friday March 18th was The National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence. This is a day for schools, students and the community to say bullying. No Way! The aim is to encourage Kindness Culture by promoting inclusion, respect and community belonging in Australian schools.

During wellbeing sessions last week in year 3 we had open discussions to help students understand and recognise what bullying is, how to report it, and where to get help. We focussed on how all of us can be empowered to be proactive up standers and use our voice against Bullying. Students came up with great ideas tips, and strategies for what they can say or do at school when responding to bullying.

When asked, What would you do if you see or experience bullying?

Chris L recommended “Say stop it, I don’t like it! Be proactive!” Thomas P suggested, “Walk away and tell a teacher”.

Check out some of the other great ideas and posters the grade 3s created too!
