Addition and Subtraction
In maths, the Year 3/4 students have been learning about addition and subtraction. They have learnt how to use the jump strategy and the split strategy to add numbers together. This week students are learning about fact families before moving on to use the jump strategy and the split strategy to solve subtraction problems. These strategies are quite different to how addition and subtraction have traditionally been taught so you might like to see if your child can explain these strategies to you at home.
