Meet Roz and Val!

Roz and Val are Spiny Leaf Insects who are two new members of the Foundation cohort. They were introduced this week to further enhance our learning environment as well as provide a sense of peace and calm. With our new members comes sense of responsibility. We must ensure Roz and Val have regular fresh gum leaves and their enclosure is sprayed lightly with water.

Roz and Val will be used to engage Foundation children in different aspects of learning such as Writing. Later in the year, they will be used to support our Living Things unit of work during Science. 

This week, Foundation children wrote their first piece of writing about Roz and Val. We began by drawing pictures of them and brainstorming describing words. We then either labelled our drawings or wrote sentences about Roz and Val.
