Instrumental Music Program

What a huge beginning to our Instrumental Music Program for 2022! We currently have 79 students learning a variety of instruments at school and dozens of Year 7 students who have taken up the free trial lesson opportunity on orchestral instruments.

The Music department is certainly buzzing and we look forward to the continuing lessons, beautiful melodies travelling through the corridors and the many performance opportunities available to students this year.

A reminder to all students that sign up forms for Instrumental Music can be found on SiMON under Knowledge Banks – Music.

Ensembles

Ensembles have also hit the ground running!

Monday after school – Senior Contemporary Band with Mr Trigge

Tuesday after school – Guitar Ensemble with Mr Stewart-Toner

Wednesday after school – Choir with Mrs San Martin and Mrs D

Wednesday after school – Junior Band with Mr Roney

Thursday before school – Senior Strings with Ms Sun

Thursday Lunch time – Junior Strings with Ms Sun

If anyone would like to sign up for any of the current musical ensembles that are running, please email: Amanda.sanmartin@nazareth.vic.edu.au

Only students part of an ensemble are invited to Music Camp in Term 2!

Brass Bedlam

Last Thursday our Year 7 students were involved in a Music incursion led by Melbourne professional trumpeter company, Brass Bedlam. They performed their fantastic and comical routine which students enjoyed and gave our Year 7s a great taste of the Music department at Nazareth College. Hopefully the performance will inspire many students to sign up for brass lessons with Mr Trigge.

Lunch time concerts

Regular Thursday lunch time concerts have begun. They take place outside of the auditorium every Thursday under the Naz tent. Thank you to the VCE VET Music class for kicking off our first performance last week. It was a huge success!  Please email Amanda.sanmartin@nazareth.vic.edu.au if you would like to perform.

SIS Performing Arts

SIS Performing Arts is coming up. If there are any dancers or musicians who might be interested in this event and want to represent Nazareth College in Performing Arts, please let me know.
