Discovery Evening

This March, we welcome new families to our College community to ‘Discover the Difference’ on our College Discovery Night. Prospective parents and students are invited to come along and learn about our mission of Faith, Education and Service, and immerse themselves in a variety of our diverse curricular and co-curricular offerings.

Attendees can expect to participate in a tour of the College, as well as participate in some interactive presentations in each learning area, led by our Coaches and student helpers.

An event invitation has been set up on the St. Peter’s College Facebook page, so please share this information with anyone you might know that is considering enrolling at St. Peter’s College in 2023 and beyond.

Clyde North Campus  - Thursday, 17 March 2022 - 7pm start

Cranbourne Campus  - Tuesday, 22 March 2022 - 7pm start

I would like to thank our Coaches, staff, and students volunteers in advance for all of their efforts in preparing for this event. Their collective efforts in the lead up to the Discovery Evening is appreciated and we are proud to have them act as the face of our College for prospective families.

Student Learning Progress

Learning Behaviour Reports reflect our whole school approach to positive behaviour support core principles - also known as R.O.C.K.S. This reporting structure allows for a more descriptive and detailed picture of your child’s approach to schooling. We are focused on core elements that create a positive learning environment for your child and for their peers. The Learning Behaviour Reports will go live to parents and guardians on March 31st, allowing for students to reflect on their results ahead of Student Learning Conferences

In the first week of Term 2, parents will have the opportunity to discuss their student’s learning progress with their teacher in Student Learning Conferences. The name places an emphasis on the importance of the student in the discussion of their learning. These meetings offer a chance for parents, students and teachers to discuss what has been achieved so far in learning, and the opportunities to maximise learning progress throughout the year. As such, we would like to encourage all students to attend these meetings with their parents.

This year, the Student Learning Conferences will be offered via Zoom and in-person:

  • In-person Conferences - Thursday, 28th April 2022 (2.30 pm to 8.30 pm)
  • Zoom Conferences - Monday, 2nd May (4.00 pm to 6.00 pm)

Details of how to access reports and book conferences will be sent to parents via email.

Student Reflections on Learning at St. Peter’s College

We have been lucky enough to welcome a new and enthusiastic group of new Year 7 students into our school for 2022. Here are some short reflections from some of our Cranbourne students:

"I've been having an amazing experience at St Peters. I love my drama classes, science classes and mathematics classes. I love all my teachers."

- Mehkeerat

"Being a Year 7 at SPC is really nice! Everyone is really nice and helpful and the teachers are really good"

- Dhaan

"My classes have all been amazing. I enjoy learning English and Maths. The electives are new to me and I also really love them. I love there is a schedule that doesn't change for the 2 weeks, that way I can be more organised. I love the house system (MacKillop is the best) and love the education here. I felt nervous because I thought I wouldn't be organised but I got a paper schedule the first day. My locker is a mess though, I'll clean it next year…  Overall I love SPC!"

- Jairav

"I have made many friends here at SPC. I love the Maths we have been doing. All the teachers here are good people and want you to learn. I have had a lot of fun in sports. The most fun I have had is in my Maths classes! I like the swimming carnivals and the speedball competition (which sadly we lost)"

- Kade

"I have made many new friends at SPC. I have good teachers that have helped me start my high school career at SPC. I have also got some great older year levels to help me out when I need it. I like the House carnivals and the House round-robins (like Avila held speedball). But I love PE the most because I love any sport!"

- Thomas

"My experience at SPC has been good. I'm finding most classes enjoyable. I'm actually finding Maths really fun but I'm also finding RE, PE, Science and Tutor Group really enjoyable. At the start I was really scared to start high school but now I feel used to being here. I still miss primary school and my friends. Everyone in my core and elective classes are really nice but on orientation day I made a friend and have no classes with her so I only get to hang out with her at recess and lunch. Most teachers are nice and make learning fun. I'm still not overly confident doing things but I feel like I'm starting to adjust".

- Madison

"I am loving SPC at the moment and love my classes. I am enjoying Maths for once! I usually find it boring but this year so far I'm enjoying it. I felt nervous and excited at the same time. Now I am happy and not nervous".

- Taya

"I love all my classes, my favourite subject is science and Sport. l like the housing system. l love high school because l can make new friends and l  can meet some new people, and find out what job I might want to do when l am older. l can learn new things!"

- Mikayla

"My experience at St. Peter's College has been so fun. I have made many friends here and St. Peter's has been really fun lately and the people in my class are really funny and nice. Overall St. Peter's has been really fun! And I can't wait for next year!!"

- Tatiana

"So far, school is going really well and I'm so happy that I get the opportunity to be in this school. Firstly, I'm so happy that I'm in Assisi since I've been wanting to be in this house since the end of 2020. I've also made so many strong connections because my locker is next to people I love. The people in my class make classes even more enjoyable and I love each and every one of them. I really like English, Science, French, RE and Maths. I was honestly terrified starting school but my best friend (who's also in Assisi) made everything better. I literally appreciate everything at this school from my friends to my classes and I'm so happy that I get to spend the next 6 years here."

- Eliz

"My experiences at St Peter's college have been so good and I have made many wonderful friends. All my classes have been somewhat enjoyable and I have learnt a lot so far already.

I mostly enjoy music and drama out of all my classes because they are the most fun.

All the people in my classes are really nice and funny and most of the teachers.

When I first started high school I was really nervous but also excited. Now I'm mostly settled in now and it's really fun."

- Emily

"I feel happy in high school and I've made amazing friends. My favourite subjects are Maths and PE. I am happy to be at St. Peter's College!"

- Aank

"I am enjoying school at the moment. It's a lot different from primary school and a little overwhelming with all the work and assessments there is to do, but apart from that it's pretty good.

I like the fact that I have made new friends and am already closer with them than I am with other friends from primary school. Maths is fun even if we have to do hard work. I'm also enjoying being in the best house colour ever... ASSISI!"

- Mary

"My experience so far in St. Peter's College is going well. All my learning is fun to do in all of the classes. I enjoy learning about French, Mathematics, Religion and Science."

- Ben
