Clean Up Australia

Congratulations to the children of Holy Family for supporting our school and local community

Looking after our Community

Keep our country clean

Last Friday, March 4th, the whole school participated in Clean Up Australia Day.

Clean Up Australia Day was founded on November 8th 1989, by Ian Kiernan and Kim McKay. The first clean up campaign was held near Sydney Harbour, and from 1990 the whole Nation was involved.

A simple idea to help keep our communities clean arose when Ian Kiernan was shocked and disgusted by the amount of pollution and rubbish he continually encountered in the world's oceans. Ian organised the first community event to clean up Sydney Harbour, taking matters into his own hands. Today more than 19 million Australians have donated their time as part of Clean Up Australia, and now we as a community can be proud to say we are part of this 19 million.

Well done, Holy Family students, for taking the time on Friday to help clean up our school and a part of our local community, Autumn Place.

Why should we keep our school clean?

We should keep our school clean because if we look around and we see rubbish it will not be nice.
